Geneseo’s international study programs offer students broader perspectives through innovative coursework that prepares them to lead lives of purpose in our shrinking global village.

From Argentina to South Korea, Geneseo offers 49 study abroad programs in 22 countries. As a result, Geneseo students acquire not only a deeper understanding of foreign language, art, culture, business and government, but develop deeper levels of critical thinking by which they can define their goals within the context of a sophisticated worldview. In addition, they experience international culture and academia with Geneseo’s dedicated professors, gaining a mentoring relationship that extends long after graduation.

By better understanding themselves – and their capacity to adapt to new and changing environments – Geneseo students gain a competitive edge. They become problem solvers who are capable of navigating a competitive, international landscape and the global workplace.

The demand for global education and the need for private support are growing. In the past five years, the number of Geneseo students who studied abroad more than doubled. Moreover, students are venturing beyond traditional European venues to such destinations as Nicaragua, Turkey, Mexico and Ghana – working closely with community leaders to have a direct impact on the socio-economic conditions where they live, learn and work.

Campaign commitments to Geneseo’s global education programs provide financial support, travel grants and stipends so that all Geneseo students can access and benefit from global education opportunities.
