There may be no greater gift than one providing access to an education. Geneseo seeks to strengthen its capacity to assist students in need and to provide scholarships that recognize academic achievement.

The cost of attending Geneseo is approximately $20,000 per year. Only one-third of the students who apply for scholarships can be assisted. Two-thirds of Geneseo’s applicants do not receive assistance because of limited private funding. Reflecting our commitment to first-generation college students and those from low and middle income families, an increase in need-based scholarships will help to bridge financial gaps, support hard-working students and allow the College to continue to enroll students from families of modest financial means.

Geneseo’s ability to build upon its distinguished history of excellence in higher education depends on attracting innovative young minds to campus. Merit-based scholarships will allow qualified students to take advantage of the exceptional educational opportunities offered by the College. Scholarships strengthen Geneseo’s ability to recruit capable and motivated students and also recognize their accomplishments in the classroom.

Geneseo must build its scholarship endowments to help recruit and retain scholars of distinction and assist students with their financial need.
